Is your short story a mini magnum opus? If so, don't leave it to grow mould in a desk drawer—enter it in a writing competition! Either that or get it published on a writers' website or perhaps in an anthology or literary magazine. There are tons of websites out there vying for your masterpiece here are some of my favourites:

Another website that publishes short stories and poetry as well as running the occasional competition is www.mslexia.co.uk but only subscribers of this excellent quarterly magazine for women writers can make contributions
